A Study on Type of Accidental Injury in Urban Childhood

Abstract
|
|
|
The nature of 4,142 accidental injury occaured from 22,434 urban childhood was studied and the following results were obtained.
1. The most frequent type of injury was contusion(23. 3%) and Abrasion, Burn Fracture, Laceration were leading types of childhood injury. Contusion increased after Pre-School age instead of Burn which was one of three major injury during Pre-School childhood. Perforation, Contusion, Dislocation, and Fracture were more frequently happen for Boys whereas Burn, poisoning and Concussion for Girls.
2. Thirty-eight point three percent of total injury were attended by Doctor. Confusion, Perforation, Poisoning and Contusion were injuries treated by doctors relatively high proportionately whereas Burn was low.
